Accédez à une question :
What is your political affiliation?
Urgence Citoyenne is a citizens' platform with no links to political parties. That being said, the members of our platform share a common sense of citizen urgency and an appetite for direct democracy.
Who can be a member of the platform?
Anyone can be a member of the platform if they are 16 years or older and a resident of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, or if you are a resident of the Greater Region and feel that decisions taken in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg have an impact on your life.
How did you choose the four emergencies, why are there only four?
This choice is based on a comparative analysis of the programmes of the main parties in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. We have extracted the common issues. We have chosen to focus on the four most recurrent issues. The ecological issue, for example, appears in one way or another in all the programmes, even if it is called adaptation to climate change for some or ecological transition for others. The Citizens' Emergency Collective does not decide on how the ecological emergency should be dealt with, but on the fact that it is an emergency that can no longer be ignored.
How did the project come about? Who is behind it?
The concept of a citizen's collective aiming to create a citizens' list emerged during a permaculture design course that took place at the ferme du bout du monde in Arlon (Belgium). A working group composed of Luxembourgers, French and Belgians wanted to use the tools of social permaculture to create a transnational system capable of putting citizens back at the heart of politics. The principles that governed the design of the system are those of permaculture, namely care for men and women, care for the environment, and fair sharing.
Who funds Urgence Citoyenne?
Urgence citoyenne is an autonomous and self-managed citizens' collective that relies solely on the generosity and commitment of its members.
How to become a member of the Urgence citoyenne collective?
To participate (for free) in the election without a candidate or to join our team of activists, just send us an email to urgencecitoyenne2023@gmail.com, you can also join our Facebook group.
In concrete terms, what are your needs?
For this campaign we need :
- Activists, able to talk about our project wherever there are border residents or people affected by political decisions in Luxembourg. We will go to train stations and other points of passage to bring politics into the public space and invite those who wish to join us
- We also need people who can manage a discord, the digital tool we plan to use for the citizens' assembly.
- Finally we need money, to print leaflets, to finance our tools (websites, discord, secure voting)
- We need partners to organise presentations of the project and disseminate our calls for participation.
